Le Duo Normand

Here it comes! The DUO NORMAND!

Here's what you need to know: two man team time trial, 54 kilometers. I really like the concept: the two athletes must combine and synchronize their forces so that they can become more than either would be on his own. We see something similar all throughout sport. Two man rowing teams:
Cameron Winklevoss Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss of the USA compete in the Men's Pair Heat 1 at Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park during Day 1 of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on August 9, 2008 in Beijing, China.

There's a whole lot more to learn about the Duo Normand, and thankfully, my new friend over at the ProVeloPassion blog wrote a very well informed write-up so I don't have to! Read up, and learn what we're up against.

I'm going to be in France for a total of two weeks, which, by my count, leaves me approximately thirteen times more days I don't race than days I do race. WHICH MEANS I PLAN TO DO SOME FRIGGIN' SIGHT SEEING!!!!

I want to see a castle.
I want to eat a Brie.
I want to ride a train that goes faster than my car.
I want to ask a French man for directions.
I want to receive a rude answer from that French man.
I want to ride a "vaches" or COW in French.
I want to become completely fluent in French.
I want to ride a bike down the Champes Elysees and raise my hands at the spot where the Tour finishes.

Stay tuned GliderBison fans -- I leave for France on Saturday!

Merci pour le lien, Sam. Close to you will be the Normandy landing beaches and Mont St. Michel for sight-seeing. If you need an interpreter...but you want to learn French. Merde.

You guys going to break Jens' record?

A two-man TT is awesome, even better than a traditional TTT in my humble opinion. Good luck!

If you can, see if you can get access to the catacombs under Paris, I hear that is the shit.

Yes, those are the Winklevosses. After Kai and I finish the Duo Normand, we plan on starting a colossal social networking company, only to get ripped off by a nerdy little pipsqueek.
